Syncrostore vs. SimpleConsign

SimpleConsign is the closest thing to a direct competitor we have. It is also aptly named — a simple product that suits a small shop on straight consignment splits. The questions that separate us are what happens when your store gets complicated, what your bill looks like in month seven, and whether the company selling you software is also the company processing your payments.

Start with the number that changes

SimpleConsign advertises a launch price. It expires after six months or your first $50,000 in gross revenue — whichever comes first. For a busy vendor mall, $50K in sales is not six months away. Our permanent price is roughly their introductory one.

Syncrostore price shown with SyncroPay™ and Vendor Choice Pricing; $329.99/mo if you bring your own processor. Either way there is no intro period and no step-up.

Over three years on the vendor-mall plan that is roughly $12,600 in SimpleConsign software against $7,200 in Syncrostore — and you never have the conversation about why the bill went up 90%.

On Vendor Mall Plus

All of it is standard, not a package

Vendor Mall Plus was announced as a new package: an interactive floor map, automated rent collection, vendor payouts, remote vendor item entry, and a vendor portal. Every one of those is standard in Consignment Pro.

Here is what each of them actually does in Syncrostore, so you can hold it against any package description rather than take our word for it.

Store map in 2D and 3D, shaded by sales over any date range, with vacancies and upcoming move-outs drawn on the plan
Rent charged by space at a custom rate per vendor, generated on a schedule, with a preview before you commit the run
Recurring fees that fire on the cycle, itemized on the vendor’s ledger alongside sales, commission, and adjustments
Vendor portal where vendors enter their own items from home and read the same running balance you do
A whole settlement cycle in one screen, paid out by ACH through SyncroACH™ or printed as checks from the same run

The Syncrostore release notes list what is in the plan and when it landed.

Why it is in the base plan

Syncrostore was built for multi-vendor stores first. Booth rent, vendor ledgers, and settlements at volume were the first problems it solved, so they sit in the base product rather than in a package assembled later.

Consignment shops, thrift stores, and antique stores came afterwards, running on the same records.

One published price, and no module to buy when your store changes shape.

Where the products genuinely differ

Payments

Payments you don’t get handed off for

SimpleConsign lists “integrated payment processing” — a partner relationship you get referred into. SyncroPay™ and SyncroACH™ are ours, white-labeled end to end: you onboard inside Syncrostore and we service it afterwards. One team covers software and payments — and your vendors bring their software questions to us, not to you.

Store mapping

Heat maps, not just a map

Vendor Mall Plus includes a 3D floor map for planning layout and finding available space. Syncrostore does 2D and 3D, then colors the same map by sales over any date range, and lets you shade it by whichever metrics you track. A map that shows what is empty is a start; ours shows where the money is coming from.

Plan structure

No ladder to climb

SimpleConsign splits consignment across Basic $159, Standard $259, and Professional $359 — ACH payouts and the consignor portal are not in Basic. Consignment Pro is the whole vendor platform on day one, so the module you need next is already there. Our other plan, Thrift Pro, is the same price, not a rung above it.

Add-ons

Fewer things priced separately

Marketing and reputation management is a $49/mo add-on on their side. Ours is Syncrosites™ at $99/mo if you want a website built — and nothing else is held back behind a second line item.

The name is the tell

Simple is the product, not the compliment

They have a large install base, and for a small shop on straight consignment splits that simplicity is genuinely fine. It stops being fine when your store gets complicated — hybrid rent models, vendors running real SKU inventory, settlement rules that differ per vendor, several buildings on one set of books. That is the point where a simple product asks you to work around it, and where Syncrostore was designed to start.

Questions worth asking either of us

What is the standard rate after any intro period?

Get it in writing before signing. Ours is the published price with no intro period at all; theirs is $379/mo on Vendor Mall Plus and $359/mo on Professional.

Who actually processes my cards, and what is the rate?

If the answer is a partner name, there is a residual in your rate. We process our own, do not mark up your rate, and will read your current statement with you on the demo.

Which features are not in the plan I am quoted?

Ask for the total including everything you actually need. Tiered plans commonly hold back ACH payouts and self-serve portals — the two things a growing store needs first.

Can I migrate out later?

Ask both of us how you get your vendor ledgers and inventory out. A vendor who will not answer that clearly is telling you something.

Compare it against your actual bill
